Texan, new to the brand, well sort of.

Greetings from Texas.
Growing up in Europe, two of my uncles had Daimlers and one a Jaguar. As a kid I used to drool over the instrument cluster with all the gauges, the push button starter and the woodwork. Ever since, the brand has had a special place in my heart.
While in college, on a measly budget, I purchased a 1984 XJ although it never saw any road action courtesy of Lucas Electrics. After that costly affair I decided to steer clear of the brand and go for a life with trouble free Japanese cars.
In May, my other half on a whim decided to buy a 2012 XF. The car is excellent and we could not be more pleased with it, besides the performance it has all the goodies we need and more.
Even though I had been eyeing a older 911 or Cayman as a replacement for my car, I decided to test drive an XK on Saturday since she really likes it.
After driving it, I knew this was the one and I pulled the trigger.
Today I finally picked it up, it handles better, has more hp and a nicer "roar" than the Porsche and it is a thing of beauty.
I suppose that for the foreseeable future I will park it miles away from other cars until that first dent.
For now though she is resting in her new home next to the younger sibling the XF.

Hello, Mark,
Congratulations on your Second Jaguar!
About parking safely far away from other "lesser" examples of Automobilia; some of us over in the Xj6 section have decided that Jaguars are magnates for other drivers, because they seem to want to snuggle up to Class and will park Right Next to us, even if there are dozens of other spaces. It's the strangest thing!
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
