Default Thanks for having me

After about a year on using these forums to troubleshoot everything from dash messages to superchargers. I thought it about time to join. I live in Surry VA, I am an AWS CWI (American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector). I have 2 Jaguars both 2001 an XK8 convertible and a XKR. I was troubleshooting the XKR today as I'm out with a cold on my things to look for to fix the problem. Cranks but won't start the thread I read leads me to think it is the fuel pump. I'll check it out when I'm feeling better.

Good to have you with us.
After a year I assume you know your way around so no need for links.
Enjoy the forum.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome to the forum JajJohn,

Fuel pump has to be on the list. Post the question in XK8/XKR section for help and advice.

Hope you and the XKR get well soon.

Graham

Welcome to this friendly Forum, John. Follow Norri + Graham's good advice - hopefully your problem will turn out to be something simple like Nikasil bore wash.

Thanks Steve I need to check my vin numbers to see if I have Nikasil bored engine for some reason I was thinking that was prior to 2001.

It changed in 2001, I think. In the XK section you'll find a HOW-TO sticky with the VIN info.

Welcome to the forum.

Don't know about XK models, but, IIRC they don't like being switched off before reaching operating temp and I seem to remember a specific starting procedure if this happens.

The XK guys will be able to help you.
