Third Family Member to Own a Jag

Hello Folks. I'm a new Jag owner, and the third person in my family to own one. Sadly though, it came to me with the passing of my mother. She had actually owned three Jags, an XJ 12, another XJ, and the X-Type that I received. My older brother owns and XJ6 and I'm sure got my mother into them. He asked me how it feels to be a Jag owner, implying we are a unique breed.
Perhaps we are...
Anyway...onto the Jag. What a fun driving car! Love the J-shift!! Exactly what I have be wanting in my other vehicle, a Chevy Tahoe. Being use to four wheel drive, I greatly appreciate the AWD feature. It handles beautifully! I have less that 67000 miles on it, and so far, I can't find any problems (which I know will eventually happen.) I have had the boot repainted due to really bad sunspots and some kind of dripping. Added a spoiler while I was there and it now looks beautiful.
Not sure if or when the struts were replaced, but it feels like it might be time. I plan on putting Bilsteins in and adding Powerstop slotted brake rotors. And window tint of course. I will update status as I improve my kitty.
I look forward to using this forum, as it has already helped me identify some missing body panel bolts. So helpful to have resources and input from others going through similar issues. Service manual was great to get as well.
Safe driving to you all...and NO TEXTING while driving!![Icon Steer](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_steer.gif)

Welcome to the forum kobedog1,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the X-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
Graham

Hello,
We Are a Unique breed! Certainly you've noticed how few Jaguars are on the road compared to Any other make! These cars don't allow just anyone to own them! We are chosen individually, and That makes us unique.
Any car, no matter what it is or how well loved, will require repair and maintenance from time to time, so one shouldn't be surprised that a car the age of the X-type needs some care now and them.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Thanks for the Welcome!
That's quite the collection you have had Grant Francis. Don't know if that makes you dedicated or should be committed. Sometime that's a fine line. :-)
And you are right LnrB, there are few on the road. It's funny how your eyes now look for them more than before. So we are the "Chosen Ones"???
Well we will see where this adventure takes me. I have been struck by the sexy look of Jags like the XK models...very Bond-like. Maybe there will be another in my future like GGG's 2007 XK. Very Nice!
