Thought I would never get here...yet here I am!
Hello Jag world!
Like all real men, I have always wanted a Jag. Like all scared men, I kept my dream in my pocket in favor of reason and need. I have finally said to hell with it, life is too damn short to wait for bliss.
My journey began with the 1998-2003 XJ8 , but then I discovered Atlantis: the 1995-1997 XJ6 . The best kept secret of the automotive world. I have always been a car guy so I was shocked to discover a luxury sport sedan capable of amazing reliability...in a freakin JAG. Wow.
My journey was short, as it lead quickly to "Baby". I know it isn't a very unique name, but it stuck. Baby is a '97 base XJ6 in Topaz. Exactly what I was looking for, and she is like a brand spankin new baby (aside from the ridiculous extra badges I plan to have removed professionally and the proper leaper I have already donned). She purrs like a kitten with 130065 pampered miles. Everything works except the obligatory busted clock.
I am a lucky guy indeed :-)

Our other Jag
GGG
Yes, this 97 XJ6 is my Jag (we got it first about a month ago), then my wife loved it enough that I talked her into a Jag of her own, but she thought the 95-03 are too masculine for her, so I introduced her to the 2005 XJ8L that we ended up buying for her a few weeks after mine.
I haven't taken pics of her car yet (she calls it "Bagheera"). That one is not as pristine as mine and has some deferred maintenance. So far it is a questionable purchase :-P

On the X350, so far we have replaced one air strut (that literally blew up) with an Arnott (front right), miscellaneous missing pieces, rear brakes, driver door panel (had small dog wounds, got a perfect replacement off e-bay), and now after the panel replacement trying to deal with the driver door lock actuator freaking out. I believe I may have inadvertently damaged it with a tug on the cable. It was working prior to the door panel change, but now it freaks out about 8 times out of 10. I ordered a good used actuator this morning so hopefully that will be all good soon.
Otherwise, Londi (the wife) said the parking brake fault showed up today on the way to work and the driver side vents blew cold air when the passenger had warm. Hopefully that is all due to lack of use in the last few years (was sitting around a lot), and the hard reset I performed last night attempting to work out the door locks. I don't think the door locks have any electrical reset. Once I get a functional actuator, I will tear into the current freaking one. Gotta cover my bases :-)

Welcome XJ 4Ever. Man that is one nice clean XJ6! I see an old Falcon in the background? and Oregon plates. Were passing through (4 days) Portland on our way down the coast and over to the Reno Air races in September. I just joined the Forum recently myself. Seems like a lot of Jags from all over the world here.

Thanks! It is just a base but should be more reliable. Someone put a lot of money into this car...new paint (well done), new upholstery (new seats?), new steering wheel (looks like a releathered?), super clean everything right down to the bottom of the trunk. It still has the hanging headliner but eh...my daughter is only 5' :-)
The Falcon is a 1960 sedan but it is from Indiana so rusted pretty badly. It does run well and drives though...currently for sale in local Craigslist (is my son's car).
