Default Time to sell dad's Jag, hello from Arizona

Hi all, I'm Joe from Tucson Arizona - A nice commenter (DaveD) from the Bring a Trailer auction site pointed me here to learn about the old Mk 2 Jaguars. Sadly, the reason for signing up on this forum is for preparation for sale of my father's 1960 Mk 2 2.4 manual, right hand drive. He's had it sitting in the garage for many years, and it's just time for him to pass it on. I'm actually a BMW collector myself, and I've had 24 BMW cars and a few BMW motorcycles too. Having a sizeable and rotating collection for so long, I've found that it's best to try and sell special cars to the enthusiasts on the forums; as opposed to eBay, or Craigslist. BaT is a good choice for Jaguars it seems, but I haven't had much luck with the admin over there accepting my (what I think are) reasonable reserve prices.

Anyway, once I have my 10 posts I will create the for sale ad in the appropriate section of the forum. Thanks to DaveD if you're around!

Thanks for the warm welcome Norri, looks like my signature details are showing up now - this is a very nice, fully featured forum (I've been on lots over the years and ran my own for 15 years as well)

OK, I have some photos (and older videos) of the Mk II in its current (sad) state. Still trying to get to 10 posts, and then I will make a for sale ad and link here on this thread... Thanks for your patience!

Prices on 80s to early 90s BMWs, especially Ms are through the roof. Hopefully "had 24 BMW cars" translates into "and still have some today".

My favorite BMW is 635 CSI with M30 engine. What is yours?

Thanks for the comment SinF-

Indeed, if you watch Bring a Trailer BMWs as closely as I do, you can definitely see some incredible value gains in the late 80's early 90's E30 chassis cars, M3 or not.

I'm not much into the older BMWs however, and have focused my collecting around 1995-2006; in my mind the truly *golden* years for modern classic BMWs. BTW, it's now up to 25 cars, as I've recently purchased a relatively modern 2012 135i Coupe to play with on the weekends. I'm trying to move away from being a restorer/custodian of cars, and actually get out and drive them (while still enjoying working on them). On the classic cars I've restored and refreshed, I never wanted to drive them after all of the obsessive effort and money I put into them. They just went to the occasional car show. I'm trying to move away from that now.

I do very much like the E24 635CSi shark nose! I almost bought one as my first BMW 10 years ago, but ended up with a '97 V12 850Ci instead (another shark nose!). On that note, I think my favorite BMW has to be the E31 (8 series chassis). I've had four of them over the years. It's going to be hard to let my last one go.

Here is my list of cars, newest purchase to oldest purchase, and if no red or green note, I don't own it anymore! Cheers!
