Figured I'd step forward from the shadows and introduce myself (I've been lurking in these forums for a few months!). My name's Gary and was originally born in Stafford in the UK where I lived until I was 34. From age 34, I've lived in the US and zap, just like that I'm now almost 59! LOL. I love cars and have owned a few American Muscle cars like the 25th Anniversary Z28 (2002) and a Pontiac GTO (2005). The GTO was a bit controversial because it was Australian made with a Pontiac face lift. A little "dull" looking for a muscle car but a total beast to drive.
Prior to that I found myself picking up an old 1988 XJ6 Vanden Plas! In the UK I would have never been able to own anything north of 2 liters so I really enjoyed owning that car. It had sat for years but as you might have guessed, it often had gremlins in the wonderful Lucas electrics! The car had the original window sticker and was priced right at $42,000 - in 1988!
Anyways, I no longer have any toys and have been chewing over what my next purchase might be and I've gone back and forth on quite a few cars. Ultimately, I've really settled on a Jaguar F Type and it has to be an SVR. There arn't that many available over here in the States, we're usually looking at between 6 and 12 (SVR coupes) for sale nationwide.
I've got my eye on one now, a local listing. Miles are a little higher than I was looking for (I was looking for about 30k) but it has the carbon brake option which I don't see too often. Badges are removed from the rear of the car for some reason but other than that, it looks clean. See what you think. Anyways, I will eventually put my backside in one of these beauties!!!!
CarGurus doesn't want to let me open the linked advertisement which makes me sufficiently suspicious not to pursue it.
It sounds like you've already found your way to the F-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. You can also use the US Mid Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-mid-atlantic-65/ to find other members in your region.
Thanks Graham! From the UK, I doubt I would trust any links from the US either!
Here's a quick pic with most of the details anyone would be interested in. It does have a couple of options I don't see often; the brakes which I mentioned previously and it has a flat bottom steering wheel. Not sure if it has a glass roof yet. Might try and look at it this weekend.
If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
