Cool Trouble With Locks?

I wonder can my fellow Jaguar drivers be of some assistance - I have an X-TYPE 2.5L AWD /2007' Up until the other day I've never had any problems with her(my Jag is called LOLA), but now whilst she will lock with the key fob, she will not open with the fob - instead I have to manually unlock the driver's door, put the key in the ignition, give it a quarter turn till the dashboard lights come on and the alarm is disarmed, then switch it off again, take the key out of the ignition, put the key back in the driver's door, and give it a turn to unlock the other three doors and the trunk. Has any other owners encountered this problem and if so, what has caused it? - what do I need to do to cure it?
