Question V12 HE fitted with 6 twinchoke Webers

Does anyone have any experience with this conversion? What jets should be used. It's a long story
The engine of my E-Type was swapped out and have until now, not been able to get it to run. It misfires up to 3000 but when the main jets kick in, its OK. Compression is a bit down on one cylinder.
I have replaced rings, sleeves, bearings, valves, valve guides and valve seals.

Welcome to the forums Eric,

As you have been a member for three years, you won't need any links to relevant model forums from me. If you can't get an answer in E-Type forum, the V12 experts in XJS forum may be able to help.

Graham

Welcome to the Forums.

As this is NOT the Tech section I will only say:

My HE experience, is that carbies of any sort are a tough tune ask.
I have a mate with an '88 with Carbies and manual trans, I will ask and post what I find in the XJS section. He works in the mines, so it could be a few days before contact.

Question

Thanks All
I'm not very good at this so be patient if I don't supply sufficient info.
The car I have is a 1972 Series 3 e-type that had the motor switched out with a 1986 ? HE. by an ignorant expert.
For the past 5 or so years I have been trying to get it to run. First with the Strombergs and now with these Webers.
If I cant get it to run properly I will look for a standard V12 or a fuel injected one that is running.
I would prefer not to give up and fix it.
Any suggestions would help

Eric,

I've added vehicle details to your forum signature - these will appear with your next post as 1972 E-Type Series 3 (with 1986 V12 HE).

Despite being an E-Type, I think our experienced V12 owners in XJS forum are those most likely to have the knowledge to resolve this issue. I've taken you first post #1 and last post #9 from here, copied them to XJS forum and merged them. Here's the link to the new thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...webers-252553/

I've also posted there to explain what I've done and why the question isn't in E-type forum.

Graham
