VVT Issue
I am new to the forum! I own a Jaguar 2001 S-Type, 3.0L car makes noise in the morning when I turn the ignition on. Took car to dealer was told I need a new VVT Mechanism, and will cost $3000.00. Can I drive the car or, will I have issues on the road. Somebody posted similar thread and said he had the car serviced by a local mechanic and noise stopped. Spark Plugs, Ignition Coil and Oil change is that posible to stop the noise?

Welcome! As Jim said, there's a Canadian forum, found here- Canada, Mexico, South America - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
There's lots of Ontario members who may be able to recommend a shop for you. Also, I'd post your question in the S Type forum. If you do a search for VVT, you'll find lots of posts, many of them for the 4.0 engines. I wasn't aware that the S Type had VVT.
What does it sound like? Does it go away when you rev the engine? Does it sound like this- https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...d-video-61236/

Welcome to the forum Paapitte,
Follow Norri's link to the S-Type section. If there's a way to save $$ on the repair, the guys there will be able to help and advise.
Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
