Hello to all, my name is Cliff. I am from Staten Island New York and have had a 2000 s-type since Feb. of this year. I purchased my Blue Beauty in Florida and drove it back to New York. My car was had with 109000 miles and since I now have 113000. Enclosed are some pictures of my car, this is the v6 3.0.

Got your message. I can't guarantee that yours is the thermostat, but it does sound a similar problem to mine. I'd try replacing it first for the $10 the part will cost you and the hour or so it'll take to change it. The heater control valve is a really tough job!! (and $150 for the part) About 5 hours (at least if the hoses were as difficult to free as mine were).
