Welcome Chrisscar. My first thought would be a vacuum check valve. It looks like it goes into the intake and not the valve cover. It it were in the pcv line it might be a tiny filter. Try going to the Jaguar heritage site. It has parts breakdowns with descriptions. I've found it very helpful . Plus it's an interesting site in itself. Good luck.

I agree, it looks like a vac check valve to me.

I would repost in the X Type section, where answers will flow thick and fast.

Wow, thanks for the overwhelming responses and quick replies! I have confirmed that it is in fact the Vacuum Check Valve as suggested.
