Well, I am an XK8 Owner again , if you followed my last thread, you know my last car lasted only 1 day, as I sent it back due to it not matching the sellers description, this one I should get next week, Ill keep ya'll posted. Its a 2000 Carnival Red with Tan.

Super, a 2000 should be alot nicer than the '97 you briefly owned! Looking forward to seeing it. Ebay...cars.com...how did you find this one?

Personally, I like the 2000 and up wheels that Jaguar offered over the 97-99's. I'm a big wheel guy.

BTW, if it doesn't come with a convertible boot cover, don't flip out. As long as the car is in great condition, you can get an aftermarket one for peanuts compared to the dealer one. Mine was absent the cover. peanuts = $300 or so

Thanks ! I should get it by the end of the week next week.H2O - I agree withyou totally about the wheels, the 97 I was getting had 2000/2001 wheels on it. My 2000 looks identical to the one I was getting. Carnival Red, withtan interor. I noticed that the CarnivalRed has 2 differentpaint codes that it goes under, Im guessing the changed the codesmid-year 1998, but not sure of this. I jsut noticed that 98, has dulipcate codes for some of thecolors, includingCarnival Red, and then after 98, only the second code is used. This car was listed on ebay back when I first started looking, and I still had the sellers number, called him, and the car had not sold, missed his reserve price by$600.He sold it tome for the reserve price, which was only $2000 more than I was payign for the 97. Sofor $2000 more I got a car with 38K miles vs 59K, and 3 years newer, and most importantly one thatdoesnt have a12" long keyed mark down theside of the door! I cant wait to get it ! Iam already wanting to add things toit. I have noticed you can get the polishedgauge rings for the instument panel, does anyone know if you can get the chrome ringsand strip that are on the2001-up tail lights/trunk lid and retro fit these to a 2000 ?

 

Got my car in, I love it ! I have 2 problems that Id like to correct. Needs a rear view mirror, the LCD part is broke. Any suggestions as to where to get one would be good. Also the drivers seat has a little wear, any suggestions about leather repair/restore would be helpful.

I had new leather put on a XJ6 driver's side bolster by an upholstery shop. He ordered in a piece of oatmeal-color leather and did a great job. $190.00.
