X.f 2.7 jammed bearing
Hi everyone new here . allways followed for reference i have an xf 8 plate with 83000 on the clock and the engine siezed so i decided to pull it out quick and inspect it !!! Seems the end bearing has became jammed and stopped it from spinning the crankshaft . Any suggestions on how to un jam it and wether its worth continuing or not with a view to grind the crank shaft and replace bearings ?
Ive straightened it in an attempt to pull with grips but no such luck !!

Welcome to the forums Rob,
The crank is going to have to come out anyway to progress the repair so the damaged shell will then release. You may be very lucky and get away with an undersize regrind although preliminary metal spraying of that journal is likely to be required. The last time I was in that situation was with my Aston Martin DB5 and it cost as much as the average house at the time to rebuild the engine. An Aston is worth the investment but for a Jaguar I'd just look for a used engine with a guarantee because you'll spend a lot more than the vehicle is worth rebuilding unless you particularly want the technical challenge.
