X-Type won't turn over

I have a 2003 X-type and we had some work done on it but the engine won't turn over when we try to start it. A red flashing light in the center console appears and I figure it's the security or immobilizer not letting the car turn on. I reset the key and re-programmed it. Not sure what to do from here.

Welcome, first and foremost.
"Turning over" is often a terminology misused.
The engine sounds like it is "rotating" but not "starting". CORRECT?
If it is cranking over (rotating) then it is simply not firing, and that could be the imobilier, or any number of things.
The other thing is that the engine does NOT rotate at all, as in seized, and that is car talk for"wont turn over"
Ya got to luv the English language, ha.
A quicky repost in teh X Type section will have answers flowing in your direction.

Welcome to the forum Olopez16,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
As already suggested, posting your question in the X-Type tech forum will get you some help. You should also expand on the 'some work done on it' as this is almost certainly relevant to the issue.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the USA Western Region forum by following this link US Western - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
