Default X305 wiper problems

When I start the wiper, there is a "thumping sound" the same thing happens when it stops, even when it runs on the wiper robot. When it is just running, there is no sound, even when it is passing the stop position. It sounds like something mechanical but since it only gives the sound when it stops and starts and not just running back and forth I have doubts .. Thinking about maybe there is a relay or similar.under the dashboard that sits loose. Is there anyone who has good advice before I start to break it all down??!?Greetings Per from Denmark

Welcome to the forums Per Greibe Soerensen,

Good to have you with us.

I see you have already found the XJS forum for electrical problems so there is no need for a link to it from me. For your other Jaguar, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ to the X305 forum for help, advice and information. However, with the wiper problem, you will probably find members in the X300 forum are able to help. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome to teh Forums.

Lift the cover cap on the arm, and ensure the nut is tight, NOT stupid tight, you will break that spline stud, just sensible tight. They do loosen some times.

Good luck.

Default Problem solved

Thanks for the good advice, but I've solved the problem. It was the wiper motor itself. It was running very tight.I have therefore separated, cleaned, lubricated and reassembled it.Now everything seems perfect.Well - maybe not so strange for a 24 year old car.
