Xj6 newbie with questions?
Just bought a nice 1970 xj6 s1 in Australia (rh drive) and wanting to improve comfort and safety. Hope you can help with my initial 3 questions or point me to relevant posts:
1. How can I upgrade my wing mirrors, as I only have a little one on drivers side which is not good enough.
2. How can I electrify my passengers front window?
3. Is there any posts on how to retrofit an airconditioner into a series 1 dash?

Welcome to the forums Rex.
Plenty of parts and help available local to you. Speak to Bill or Doug at Jagdaim, those two always have an answer. Their new website is not up and running atm but call them and talk to the guys. Always willing to help. 03 9553 0333
1. I have a small mirror on the right, that is how the car came to me so never given it a second thought. Just a lot of shoulder checking goes on for lane changes.
Small pillars so the vision is good in all directions. But I have seen a few S1's with S2 or S3 mirrors fitted.
2. As Grant says, S2 door motor would work. But I have air con so window winders are ok with me.
3. Air con, mine was fitted by Brysons as a new dealer option. Link below will give you all the info I have on miy air. Pretty sure a retro fit unit has been mentioned in the thread.( https://www.retrospares.com.au/colle...BoCBIAQAvD_BwE) Down your way I believe.

thanks for reply. I read you're thread about fixing your how to in 2014, very helpful if I had a mark iv ac already in mine
But I don't have even that. Nothing.
Your photos show the mark iv fitted in the dash neatly. Was it hard to get in and out?
I might need some help to not get ripped off by jag ac specialists.
Thanks for the link you gave to retrospares, i wonder if that unit is for a eries 1 dash and if it includes all the compressors etc. or just the dash unit?
i will call JagDam as suggested to get some help.

Welcome to the forums Rex,
Good to have you with us.
I can see you've already found your way to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III forum with these qustions so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
