Hi all - I'm new to posting, but I have read a few of the threads on the site, there's some good stuff!!
I'm old school (V8's and blowers) with my cars typically, and I have an XJS I'm in a moral pickle with. It's a 5.3 HE originally, and it's tired mechanically. I bought a 6 litre V12 (odd motor, has 12 coils and semi sequential injection), but while putting it in, I thought I might like something easier to work on. I looked at using a spare LS1 I have, but the mind is wondering onto retro-tech - VH45, 1UZ etc. Thinking is, that if I go that way, I want to turbo, so am also looking at RB's, and JZ series 6's.
Thoughts guys? Is it a car that really needs a rumble, or will a turbo 6 be man enough for the old kitten? Do you know of any engines that fit particularly well? I want to run an auto, so that's a consideration too.
Thanks for your time all........
