Default XK8 convertible roof fails to close

My convertible roof on XK8 1999 was down it started to close about a quarter way through just stopped the refused to move up or down.

I top up charged my battery as have been using the roof a lot, battery is fine. Released the roof hydronic fluid tap as required and manually closed it, then tried agai the open it, windows adjust as normal but roof not moving, then I check back and open tap seems to have a green shore in the back so lost some fluid

is any hydrolic fluid ok to top up with?

Welcome to the Forums.

OOPS.

I would re-ask in the XK8 (X100) Tech Section, they will know.

Good luck.

Default Oops my mistake!

Thanks I noticed later but further investigation found the top hydrolic hose had come out of its connector and keeps coming out under oressurr trying to think of a way to make it stay in without a garage visit

Default Wow Guys thanks!

Thanks so much for your help everyone! this is a great retirement project only - problem I’m retired yet! Parts are very reasonable but the labour is the big one!

Labour is the killer with Jaguar repairs but you will find all the necessary information on the forum to help you DIY repairs and maintenance.
