Default Xkr

Just got a 2004 Cabriolet in black.
Will be bringing it bang up to date pretty soon.
What tonneau covers would anyone recommend?
Are the fibreglass ones too poncey? Should I stick to an old style leather one?

Hey Mike, welcome to the forums my friend.

Love having xk* owners join up, as sometimes I feel like we are in the minority around here.

Got a question before you get an answer.

Your 04 doesn't have those Senta wheels on it does it? I thought the 04 XKR was only a 'portfolio' year, with those 5 spoke versions.

Now, for your inquiry about the convertible boot, i personally think the fiberglass looks odd on the car. plus, where you gonna put it? In the boot where it could get scratched up? I paid an ebayer who manufacturers them. Excellent quality, very rigid, and he'll match up your color after you give him your interior code. In the UK, however not sure about your options.

Default Thx Matt

Cheers Mate, I am leaning against the fibreglass tonneau now...
Just want to be sure, you have a leather one now then?
Can you send me a link to where I can see them please bud?

In answer to your question.. My XKR will very soon have those 20" Senta's on... It is in the workshop at the moment (within a day of me picking her up).. She's having a total revamp.. I'll post some pics when I get her back.. .. Having new discs and pads all round, new exhaust system, the wheels, and lots ofother bits and pieces .. I can't wait !

In order to get the bolt pattern correct, you switching the hubs to allow the Senta's to fit? Nice!

This is the guy who 'made' mine, and my color was dove grey, and he matched their grey up almost perfectly. It looks great (and I am a perfectionist).

BTW, mine is not leather. It's a vinyl. I'm pretty sure that there isn't a 'leather' boot cover available, OEM or otherwise. This one is soft, but thick.

Thanks guys! Nice to be here ...
h20boy ur the man...Those tonneau's are loads better..
I'll be contacting that guy and let you know how I get on.

I reckon I have about 10 days to wait now until my baby comes back
from the workshop... I decided to go fo a few fancy bits too.. Chrome
Supercharger side vents from an 08 xk with indicators, an 07 front bumper
among other things...

Can't seem to be able to upload pics yet..but when I figure it out, i'll stick on some
before and after pics.....

Cheers all...

Default First Pic (Before Picture)

The only picture I have that's small enough for the site at the moment.
Damn!

I bet you're excited Mike, can't wait to see her also!

You didn't answer my small query about the new hubs to fit the Sentas on that model year? Wasn't that a costly venture?

Default Senta's

Hi ...

I found a guy here in the UK who is doing all the
work for me , including adjusting the hubs to allow the Senta's to fit.
He is a star... I'll get his permission first and let you know his details ok...
I'm expecting a wait of around another 2 weeks before my beastie comes
out of the workshop! :-(

The cost to adjust the wheels to fit is around £350 as far as I remember..
The wheels I got on Ebay for £750 including tyres.. They came from an 07 XKR.
Yum!
