XF 3.0D S from Nam
Hi All,
Had to join this forum, cause where will one find such wealth of knowledge and experience in one place. Thank you all for allowing me to join.
I am from Africa - from a small diamond mining town in the far south_western corner of Namibia where wild oryx still roam freely in the streets .. no joke. I have proof.
But I joined to tell you about the Jaguar 3.0D S Premium Deluxe , year model 2013, Color: Dark Sapphire that I will pick up from the dealer in a week's time - she is currently at Panel beaters to Buff out hairline scratches and then for service at Land Rover/Jaguar before I pick her up .. Can't wait to drive the 1000 km back home - got 45 000 miles on the clock with one previous owner and did mostly highway miles over long distances. This is really special to find , I think, in a small country like ours. if the 2019 is out of reach (drooling).
This will be my first luxury & fastest car ever - and it's a Jaguar FX !
I get it for N$ 280 000 (Namibia dollars) .. ya, I know - forex not on our side.
What do you think ... Is this a good buy if I self service regularly - plan is to hold on for the next 10 years.
I ordered the Icarsoft LR V1.0 diagnostic tool for self service purpose and a battery tender as she will only be driven occasionally.
Now that you know alot about me and my new FX pls. tell me what your thoughts are on the above buy and any tips on keeping her safe in the garage (can I just put battery tender on and Bob's your uncle) to stay in good condition or is there more to it ?
Thanx
Cheers

Welcome to the forums Zakka,
Good to have you with us.
My last XK was Dark Sapphire. It's a beautiful colour. Just make sure you don't get an oryx for a bonnet mascot! A battery tender is the essential to keeping a modern Jaguar free of electronic gremlins. Remember that with a low mileage example, servicing is on a time basis - every 12 months.
