Default Zimzum - France - Few toys but need an X308!

Hello,

I'm a french car lover, and I plan to buy a Jaguar X308.

More about me : I love travelling far away, photography, guitars, cars, vintage Hifi...
I plan to drive from Paris to Ulan Bator in Mongolia next year...

About cars :

I have always wanted a Caterham Super Seven and bought mine in the UK at the age of 22 years old... It was Seven years ago...
It's a Rover powered Supersport with 138 Bhp and 550kg.
Registering a Super Seven in France is really a lot of troubles, money and time... 15 months for me.

Here is my little 1974 Fiat 128, with a Rotmo 1500cc engine fitted. It's now 85 bhp and really fun to drive!

I have also owned a nice Peugeot 106 XSi 1.6l

3 years ago I really wanted to try a cool premium car, very comfortable for long road trips. I bought a Datsun 280C (Nissan Cedric H430) (1983)

And that's why I'm here now. I really appreciated the comfort of the Cedric, but the Diesel engine and the corrosion made me look at one of my first loves, the Jaguar XJ! I have realized the prices are really attractive!
I think I have decided to buy a X308, because I prefer its looks rather than the X300.
Still not decided on 4.0l or XJR though, I have questions to ask...

My dream is to park a Dare G4 next to my Jag, Caterham and Fiat!

Welcome to the forum zimzum,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You have a good collection of cars. Are you looking for an X308 to import from the UK as you did with the Caterham or searching for one in France?

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You can also visit the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/

Enjoy the forums.

Thank you.
For money reasons, I will probably import one from the UK.
Same car in France is about 3000€ more expensive.

Is should be easier to get an X308 past the DREAL than it was for the Caterham!

Hello!
I will soon take pictures of my 1998 Carnival Red XJR.
I just collected it in the UK and drove it back to France!
Few issues to fix like vibrations in the steering wheel and seat at medium speeds, leather restauration and tyres (wheels) change.

It'll be a rare sight on the roads in France. I cross the country north to south twice a year and it's unusual to see another Jaguar.

I finally found time and good weather conditions to take pictures of my XJR.

Gearbox and supercharger now have new oil, headlining has been completed today, and the Penta wheels have been replaced with BBS Milan
