Welcome to the forum noroad. When you get a moment stop by our new members area.

Whereis is the official source of map discs for AUS/NZ, yes it is a Denso disc that you need. They are not easy to come by 2nd hand either unfortunately.

I don't mind (that much) paying for a new one, these Whereis people seem to be very hard to get hold of though. Ive already come across one very suspect Supplier in Australia (www.navigationau.com) which rang all the alarm bells.

Yeah those guys are selling pirated copies. Don't bother with them, at best the disc lasts a few months, at worst it will crash your Nav system...

I contacted Alpine in UK. They said they had a disk for NZ for my XKR2001 until I said it was a Japanese car.... they then said no and good luck. Never did get a price. Will find email, address and post it here. If anyone does have a UK disk, have tried USA copy I would love to give it a crack and see what happens.

Whatever you do, don't deal with Naviation Australia:

I made the mistake of buying from them, but it's a scam :-(

I got hold of Ashley.Booth@alpine.co.uk. As mentioned above they don't think the disks (really don't think) will work with Japanese GPS units for my 2001 XKR. Waiting for a price so I can consider my options. Will update if I get more details.

And that is a no... different connections. Going to try a "Wake Up Disk" for the DVD Unit. Anyone know of anyone who has access to the DVD Wipe Disk or is t a unicorn myth?

I have had several S types , and 1 XJ8 converted to NZ navigation. All were imports from Japan , year 05-08(Facelift.) These were done by Euro Surgeon in Auckland. Included radio frequency , less than $300.
