Recommended dealers / Indys New Zealand
Hi guys, just a quick thought here on this, something we have running in the UK section.
How about anyone with any experiences about a dealership / Indy making recommendations here?
We can then see at a glance any dealers / Indy's as recommended by forum users for good service, pricing, timely repairs etc etc.
Please feel free to add below by making a post about your experience and then add details of the dealership, names, tel numbers etc and also who is making the recommendation.
Something like this or similar....
List of recommended garages

X type 2007 2.1 NZ new
Hi there all.
Over 50 years of motoring, and every time it can quicken my pulse and raise my blood pressure!
Obviously my 2000 Ford extra cab well deck ute wasn't going to go on forever. But when the clutch needed replacing a couple of years ago after 444,000 km, I mean they just don't make things to last these days. Besides a new electric petrol pump 250,000km ago, a few rubber suspension bushes and the brake bits and pieces, nothing has been done to it. It's sat outside all its life and been driven all over the countryside although mostly long runs, several hundred or even a 1000 km at a time. It had gathered a few nicks and scratches but the paint still gleamed after a polish and there was no deep rust anywhere. Those Thai's sure know how to assemble reliable vehicles. And it's been born ago, exported to the Pacific Islands.
The replacement vehicle obviously had a bit to live up to although most of my other vehicles have also performed well with longevity. I have long eyed up those XJS's particularly with the V12 after an uncle owned a V12 Jag sedan years ago. But the daughter says baby grandchildren can't ride with me unless I have state of the art baby seat mounts 2007 on? I looked at X types. The all wheel drive high ground clearance should be ideal for towing my quad bike to farms all over the place. But in the end after weighing up the info in these forum posts, a couple of years ago I opted for a moderate km front wheel drive 2.1. Now having done over 220,000km and me newly retired, it no longer has to tow a quad bike on a trailer around the countryside. (it has also towed a large loaded furniture trailer 600km to Wellington. Only outcome was it nearly doubled the fuel consumption). It's a far better ride and more comfortable than the half it's age, half it's km and more than twice the price/value similar size Jap sedan of my wife.
I read with intrepidation the problems and complications that other owners/members have had or are having. Kind of gotta hope that I've got one of the good ones from the 100,000 odd X types made. If only I could get that O2 sensor code to disappear. And on farm or on country roads, it hard to notice that run flat tyres are indeed flat before you destroy them.
A curious thing. We have a steep driveway and if the X type is parked there, presumably nose down but I'm not sure on that, in heavy down pours of rain, water gets down onto the coil packs and spark plugs, leading to no go, misfiring and coil pack damage. I think I've seen one other comment like that from the US although several others have had filter problems with the air conditioning. Maybe water was the cause rather that debris buildup.
Here's to much more happy motoring and I wish I could test out the apparent smooth cruise at 120 to 130 kmph.
Good luck to all
Graeme
