I've seen Schwantz, Edwards and Foggy close up.
Local Track, Morgan Park. 6 hour return trip taking in all the best back roads to get there. (really only 1 1/4 hours away on a boring Highway)

Maybe old news to current riders, but I watched a most excellent movie today called "Hitting the apex" its is a doco on the MotoGP world around the 2010-13 era when Rossi's grip on the Championship weakened and the next generation came through.
Great commentary without a lot of BS and some fantastic footage of close quarters MotoGP racing, worth a look.

I have similar ones from 80's and 90's with Doohan,Rainey,Swchantz etc. Also great viewing.
Also have every GP (125,250,500 and Moto era)recorded on DVD from early 90's onward. About 500 dics all up. Great for lazy days watching old Doohan or Stoner races.
Plus about 15 years worth of IOM tt highlights.

My favorite GP race ever was the Australian GP in the late 80's where Gardner's fairing was falling off and Schwantz crashed very late. Guys Were going from first to fourth. It was nuts.

That would have to be 1989 at Phillip Island and was the first ever World Championship Motorcycle Grand Prix to take place in Australia.
I think from memory Gardner hit the back of Rainey twice during the race.
That race sticks in my mind because it was the first 500 GP to be aired on NZ television.( I remember watching it at our local Kawasaki dealers house after a tough morning racing jet ski's, all bought from his shop) Before that my older brother was posting me vcr's of the races from Australia.
My two all time favourite GP's were the 1995 Australian GP at Eastern creek where Doohan was leading Craville into the last corner when Craville took Doohan out and John Kocinski won on the Cagiva, Doohan finished 3rd and Craville 6th.
Next best is the 2007 Catalunya GP where Stoner really stamped his authority on the championship and showed that him and the Ducati were a force to be reckoned with. It was his 4th win of the first seven races but a real eye opener.

An 1100 N model. Ohlins front and rear and some really nice mods.
The pipes might be a bit rude for some, but I like the hard edge rasp on these. Engine sounds brand new, but it has just been rebuilt.

Reminds me of my old 750 dinosor I've been modding .
I would kill for that rear Ohlins shock !!!

Summers nearly here I'm getting a bit fizzed up.
As your weather goes into summer, our winter kicked in a couple of days ago after a very mild October. At best 8 degreesC today and forecast colder this week.
The older GSXR is great ! Are you going to do retro race colours? or OE paint? or to match the later bike?
I had a GSXR1100M for a while, a hooligans bike ! I was so glad of the WP stearing damper on it. 150 rwhp and perfect fuelling.

We're still not quite summer here yet , still getting the spring rain ,

This 86 bike I'm the second owner , and I bort it at 1300km . Although the engine had been out of the bike and used in an 85 race bike for racing way back then , my mate done two seasons racing then put it all back in the 86 street bike. It has stage 2 yoshi cams and jeted 1100 slide carbs . And tuned yoshi headers and pipe , it originaly was black/red yoshi colours . But I painted blue after a few scrapes ! And I think il go back to the faded two tone blues ,as it's simple and striking and affective . This how it was 5 years ago .

You have got the perfect climate for keeping bikes looking like new.
I remember the 750 seca, we had them here in UK too.
They had a rather unique feature of covers for the exposed bars and cables. All except the throttle that is.
Nice to see you have kept it stock and not butchered it.
Yes a decent set of front forks is a defenite safety improvemnt on an early gsxr !

Had a single radial disc on my Buell !
Yep the brakes are radial ,
With new nissin master cylender .
the brakes and front wheel are off an 09 Gsxr 1000
Also added a pickup to the front wheel and run a digital speedo ,
Forks and triple tree are off an 06 Gsxr 1000
Rear wheel is off an 07 Gsxr 750
06 750 rear Cush drive with some mods .
