Audi A6 M.O.T today
Well, as most of you know although I got the Jag I decided to hold on to the Audi and today was time for its M.O.T
For our American cousins and those outwith the UK the M.O.T is an annual inspection to ensure road worthiness, required on vehicles over 3 years old annually, as below....
The Ministry of Transport test (usually abbreviated to MOT test) is an annual test of automobile safety, roadworthiness aspects and exhaust emissions required in Great Britain for most vehicles over three years old used on any way defined as a road in the Road Traffic Act 1988; it does not apply only to highways (or in Scotland a relevant road) but includes other places available for public use which are not highways.
Well, this'll be her 5th M.O.T and I'm glad to say she sailed through yet again, with no issues, no advisories
To be fair, I do try and keep on top of anything she needs and she's loved n looked after. I always wash her and clean her inside n out, clean the alloys, black the tyres and do the basic check on lights / tyres etc before taking her in, but you never know......
All good for another year........

It kiils me, it really does.
Mot time means more than a few hours, getting car ready, washed and cleaned inside and out, alloys done, a quick vacuum and dust ( usually all it needs on any given day ) and a nice dose of something fresh.
Windows all cleaned, under the hood, fluids checked and topped if required, lights checked etc etc etc and I'm still sweating buckets....lol
Then I see "Dodgy Dave" drive up in his 13 year old Fiesta / Peugeot / Clio with about 3 months worth of muck, the interior looking like war torn Afghanistan, one mud flap hanging by a thread, missing 3 wheel trims, some questionable looking tyres and an exhaust that shakes back n forth about at least 2" either way.....AND THEY PASS

Frog told me an interesting tale about submitting his XKR for the French equivalent test.
At the time he hadn't had the headlights converted to RH dip and was worried it could fail. A neighbour advised the accepted technique was to place a couple of bottles on the counter without saying a word. It worked!
