Renault Clio MKII 1.2 Sport Grande W reg 2000
Hey guys, I've taken some pics of my Renault Clio
Sport 1.2 Grande 3 door, W reg on a 2000 plate.
Its actually for my son Jamie, he's 17 and just passed his test a week ago and will be taking delivery of it tomorrow - he's salivating already...lol sleepless nights n everythin!!
Anyhow, got it in really pretty damn good shape and paid £1000 for it with 55k miles on the clock. Got it from a 55 year old guy who got it from HIS dad
I can only assume that being in his 70's I'd guess he did very little mileage and did all the servicing required, really in tip top condition. One of the service intervals was showing a little over 1600 miles in a YEAR!!!
Spent around 20 hours on it and detailed it to within an inch of its life, cleaning in ALL the door shuts and crevices, gunked the engine bay which looks awesome, then polished n waxed to finish.
I spent around £200 and bought new rear lights as shown for £30 the pair + £20 for sparky to rewire and fit them, £15 for new clear side repeaters c/w chrome tipped amber bulbs, new wheel trims at £80 from Renault dealer - RIP OFF! £5 for a replacement rear light bulb holder as the old one was corroded beyond belief and around £30 for new wipers all round plus £20 for new licence plates. £2 for new screws to replace the old rusty ones on the front fogs ( a minor detail I know but really make a difference IMO )
Thoroughly cleaned the whole interior although it was almost spotless to start with, used Autoglym vinyl and rubber care on the plastics and vacummed the whole lot and cleaned the windows.
Used Wet n Black with a sponge on the tyres, mudflaps, side trim, bumpers and mirror housings!
Personally, I think she looks pretty good the way she is and hope that he won't change it too much.
I'd say maybe an old used set of alloys which I'll refurb with him to as new condition and possibly a medium tint on the rear windows and he's good to go. Possibly a small chrome finisher on the exhaust NOT a 3" wide thing just to suit and clean it up a little more.
What your thoughts please guys??

Good deal you got there Jim. The car looks very sharp indeed.
If you do go for some sort of exhaust tip, be careful that it doesn't touch and melt the plastic valance (personally I would keep it, as is).
Great car for a youngster in the city, and petrol not too bad on dad's wallet either.

You may be right on the chrome finisher, we'll see what happens on that one.
As for petrol, thats up to him, I've spent a small fortune on the car and invested time n more money to get it where it is now. The rest has to be up to him...They gotta grow up sometime
