Today my Mechanic advised me my ‘07 XJ8 front fault suspension light warning was to be remedied with 2 new hydraulic shocks a control arms for $3200 all parts/ tax/ labor. Vehicle has 108,800 miles. Kelley Blue book “fair” is $5,800 or so or $2,500 as a trade in. My wife drives it and is trying to convince me to sell the car. With full disclosure I’d have to sell for $3500 or so. It’s a real beauty, black on black no dents or faded paint. Am I nuts to spend the money or is the beginning of a money pit? I was hoping for another 100,000 miles.
Any enlightenment is appreciated. My wife is not at all a car enthusiast (FYI):😕
