I would never buy it, but if it allows Jaguar to sell a bunch of units to soccer moms around the world and therefore bring in revenue to keep Jaguar financially sound I am all for it. But if they are going to get into the land of SUV's they better have their game together. If you are marketing toward families it had better have perfect reliability and zero bugs out of the gate. God help Jag if they have breakdown issues with kids in a car. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, right? Another potential positive is if they perfect an AWD system, maybe they will offer it on car models soon.

Yes the first thing that popped into my head was Porsche Cayenne.
Trying to give it the family nose. Just doesn't work.
After studying the picture, it also looks a lot like the Audi Q7
Maybe the "artist" took the Q7, stole a few clues from the Evoque, and then stretched an XF front onto it.
In any case, it's terrible....
If you want a Jag SUV then buy a Range Rover people!

Shame on Tata for even CONSIDERING such an abhorrent idea. They have the Land Rover brand for all manner of trucks and other bloated pieces of tin already. The Jaguar brand is and always has been for luxury and sport high performance automobiles only, it borders on sacriligious to prostitute the brand in such a way. An estate car (shooting brake, station wagon, etc.) is at least still a car and therefore acceptable, an SUV is certainly not. Talk about "putting lipstick on a pig!"

I'd guess they want to use the Jaguar badge to add some status to the vehicle, the RR is really the domain of the green wellie brigade.
Tata already has a big presence in the 4wd market in India, they can sell the RR to the huntin', shootin', fishin' group and the Jaguar bus to the Chelsea tractor crowd.

I wish Jag still had an all wheel drive.
If you live in a place with serious weather, and have a job like me and my wife where we MUST be able to get to work under any circumstances, an SUV in the garage is really a requirement.
I love Jag, and have to have an SUV. If they make an SUV, I will buy one. Yes, I can buy a land rover, or a BMW, or whatever, but I want a Jag.
