I used to love doing black and white photography, then doing my own developing, matting, and framing (I had my own black and white darkroom). I had a Canon TLB for many years (til it was stolen) with an assortment of lenses. Now, I've gone digital as I do interior design, decorating, and remodeling, and it's just so fast and easy. I use a Fuji digital camera that has a 30 times optical zoom as well as a wide angle lens that allows me to shoot anything from small rooms to large homes. It's a great, inexpensive camera (bought at Costco with case and 4 gig SD card for $175.00) that is indestructible as I throw it in the trunk of my car and it bounces around. I had the previous model and it always served me well.
I took these closeups this afternoon after I waxed my XKR as the lighting was great. I have enjoyed everyone's photos and think this is a terrific part of the Jaguar forum. Keep them coming.

I've taken a couple of pics... here and there
Yay... a photography thread...
I sometimes take a pic or 2... I use mostly digital for my "normal work" as it is hard to convince clients to gamble on the results from film, but use film for absolutely everything else, mostly medium format when time permits.
(because it's awesome) so heres a wee sample to kick things off on the wrong foot...

Jag display at dealer party.
Jaguar Porsche Audi of Nashville held a "party" to display the new XJ and XF models a few weeks ago. They asked the Nashville British Car Club for some vintage Jags to display in the showroom along side the new cars. Here are a few quick shots from my (not so great) phone camera. We brought an XK150FHC, 3.4S-type, SIII E-type and an XJ220. Sorry for the poor quality but I hope you like the content.

I guess I'll start ...
Matt - have not thought of doing car photography before ... will start with the Jag.
I do a lot more landscapes and airplanes. I'm trying to get some good ones during airshows where the bird perform a dedication pass at the show center - preferably when it squeezes some vapor out the sky. It's been hit or miss so far. I've got this one - an A-10 - that came out OK. I think it was OK bc A-10 was a relatively slow bird. When it was an F-16 or an F-18, my lens is not fast enough even with action mode.
Ideas ... ?

A high proportion of Jaguar content in my photos from Limerock last year. A shame I can't make it this year. It's amazing.
2012 Lime Rock Historics - a set on Flickr
And my photostream seached for Jaguar
Flickr Search: jaguar
My XJR at the former Loring Air Force Base in northern Maine. The structure is a blast shield in the "run up area" for the refuelers and bombers that used to be based here.
Kodak tmax400 film in my medium format Rolleiflex TLR.
A D-type at 2011 Limerock historics.
Kodak tmax 400 4x5 film, speed graphic, 210 trioplan lens. (A very smooth pre-war triplet)

Calling all Southern California Jaguars
A couple of friends of mine are organizing a meet for interesting cars next weekend. The meeting is at Victoria Gardens Mall in Rancho Cucamonga.
Based on last month's event there promise to be lots of exotica - Ferraris, Lambos, Bentleys and only 1 Jaguar. Please join me in representing this most noble of British marques.
Ferraris/Exotics/Classics in the Inland Empire event 9-15-13 at Victoria Gardens - FerrariChat.com
There will be a photographer in residence (that would be me) and possibly also a videographer. After the main meet CNC Motors, in Ontario, will be hosting a Barbeque. I will photograph everything that moves during the meet and then will take a variety of other shots afterwards including freeway shots and a couple of planned locations:
