While every other 24 year old would rather go to Cancun or Miami for vacation, I would rather go on a driving tour of Scotland in my S-Type R. Sure there's beautiful scenery here in the States, but there is something missing that I can't quite place my finger on...the history?...the culture? Oh well, one of these days I will put my money where my mouth is and go do it. Thanks for sharing the pics!

There's some beautiful and stunning scenery and great driving roads here. I'm lucky enough to live here and am very proud of my Country and have been fortunate enough to see most of it over the years through my job as an Area sales manager. To be honest I never really tire of it but sometimes you can take if for granted. Probably one example that put that into perspective for me was when my boss came up to spend a week with me, probably around 10 years ago now I guess. We drove up to the North of Scotland to visit some customers and it was in the middle of summer and glorious weather....He says to me - I can't believe we pay you to drive around this place and visit people, you are one lucky ba****d

Anyhow, hope you get over one day and I'm sure you'd love it and would be made welcome for sure.

The Applecross Peninsula is a must see!!
Spectacular vistas, stunning views at every turn, I’m not sure if this goes into ‘Best driving Roads’. But one thing is for sure Applecross should be on every ones ‘bucket list’.

I took quite a few pictures as you can imagine & posted those two pictures because I liked them. But the best picture I took on the day, was the one just behind the very location those two pictures were taken. I was in fact waiting for the Tobermory Distillery to open & start its guided tour with a sample of the finished product at the end of the tour J

BLU3 - Thanks for the pics. They bring back very fond memories of a road trip I took to Mull and Skye about 10 years ago. If I can find them, I actually have similar shots of Tobermory with blue sky, a very rare occurrance. I was there in August, and I remember a local telling me that they had two seasons out there: Rainy and Fogust. Still, it has to rank as one of my favorite spots on the planet. I too toured the Distillery, and the sample was indeed worth waiting for.
I actually just realized that I have one of the shots I took there on this laptop. It's a poor scan of a 4X6 print, but I like it. I now have the ability to scan the 35mm negatives, but I'm having trouble finding all my older ones.
Anyway, thanks again.
