It looks to be worth every penny.

How were the rear wheel arches done?

THANKS for the heads up,, plums
they are done with steel tubing outer edge, shaped to body line.

ans \d sheet steel from body out to edge, both top and inner sides, body filler finish to blend,, been great so far 16yrs.

Ah .. the old traditional way then

Those wheel arches have always set off your car from all others in the various picture series shown over the years. They really make the car.

Most interesting XJS that I have seen in a long time.

Some misc Q's:
- looks like no A/C?
- is the top still functional?
- what are the transmission mods?
- who carried out all the mods, and are they documented well enough so that the next owner can figure out how to continue the care and feeding thereof?
- where is the car physically located?

Thanks!

Default Best in class

couple weeks back won BEST IN CLASS award at a show.

what convinced the judges was ,rear arches steel,, no door handles, key fob opener, rounded door edges, plus V12 engine(not a chev v8), nice interior, paint etc.

18" wheels, 9" ftr. 10" rears.

SCMike,, no a/c, could be put back, under dash is all there.

trans is a 700R4 overdrive built,, 3,73 ratio LSD.

no top,a true roadster, not convertible. my plan was a torneau cover, studs & zipper, but dont rain much around here.

its a collector car, dont drive as DD.

i have a TWO HR VIDEO OF COMPLETE RESTORE!

car is in Austin TX,, home of the NEW F1 race track,, Circuit of the Americas.

RHD is great fun, people always excited about it, but no probs. driving, matter of getting used to it. like i said 16yrs.

Out of curiosity... Did this car start life as a convertible, or as a hardtop that was chopped?

Take care,

George

THX for the interest;

this car started life as 1978 factory XJS coupe, modded in England,( by AMT, Aston Martin Tickford), 1982 into a prototype cabriolet, then modded into a roadster in FL. 1993-94.

it is well done and runs excellant! and like said one of a kind, lot of thumbs up.
