Dave we are having a difficult time finding a comparable car that can help us price this vehicle. The number above was a given to me by a gentleman that just recently sold his 87 Jaguar . One of the reasons I joined the forum is to try and get help with the history and pricing of our car. I definitely don't want to out price myself out of selling market but this car is in beautiful condition.

Honestly, that price is on a very very high end of a Mecum Auction. This is Jaguar Forums and just normal cat lovers. I'm going to run the car info by my insurance agent and see what numbers she comes up with.

XJSC's....
Yeah, that price is very high. The problem with these cars is people think they are so rare, but they're not. Believe it or not, Jaguar made 5500 (that's right, over five thousand) of them, so you see more than you might expect (still, after all these years). I had heard once that of that number, nearly 4000 came to the US.
I still have an 88 (owned it for over 10 years) and have owned probably 3 or 4 others over the years. These days, $10k will get you an absolutely primo condition car, and many sell for less. The project cars sell for considerably less....
The only exception is maybe the 3.6/5speed versions that were sent here in small numbers in 1985 (only that year, I think). Those bring slightly more....

A reference point
Here's an apples to apples comparison. This one has a few more miles and maybe is priced a little low, but still looks like a decent car. The only obvious missing pieces are the B-pillar outer trim. And it does have the hardtop- not always included with every car...

Thank you for the comp. It looks somewhat close but it is a year older. There are no pictures of the interior and almost 50,00 more miles than our car . You don't think having all the interchange top would make it more valuable ? I know the first number we out on this thread was way to high , thank you again for all your input I really appericate it . Chris did you ever here anything from your insurance co ?
