1999 XJR broken down, and for sale
My 1999 BRG XJR was running beautifully until a few days ago. I started it up, some nasty noise from the engine, so I switched it off quick. I was about to part exchange the car for a new one.....typical!! Anyway, I dont have the time or energy to get this thing fixed right now. It is too good to scrap. Someone could repair this and then either enjoy it or sell it.
It is in good condition. Some dings in the doors but otherwise the body is great. Interior is very good in the white leather. I had a sagging headliner and had the dealer fit a new (from the factory) headliner at a cost of $2500. It has $800 worth of new hoses under the hood. Wheels are perfect and tires are quite new. CD changer doesnt work....of course, but header unit (radio etc) inside the car is fine. Everything works. Since I have had it all work has been done by the Jaguar dealer, nobody else. Before it broke down it really was a lovely car to drive. Powerful, quiet, and I think the BRG with the white leather is a lovely combination.
I suspect the fault is the cam chain tensioner but I cant be sure.
I am 40 minutes north of Seattle. Buyer collects. Any offers ?

Damn too far and my personal least favorite color. Yes i know its a heritage and purity thing. I just prefer metalics instead of leftover paint from wwii. Now the new brg is metallic and i do like that. Best of luck. You might put in craigslist in seattle area too. Btw, did the dealer diag or you just figured it was that???
