I just finished playing with it and have a new toy
I only drove the car less than 2,000 miles since I bought it a year ago. Whenever I travel any distance we always take my wifes 2002 XJ8 because it is a little softer ride, and our dog can go in the back seat. I don't allow the dog in the XJR as the interior looks like it has never been sat it.
So the short answer is we are basically duplicating cars with having 2 x308s. If I want some real fast track time, I can use the 580 rwhp 2700 lb pantera, to the hardware store, the minivan, so the XJR was my time off fun car. That has just been replaced with a little red roller skate 1992 Miata. I just ordered a little Eaton M45 super charger for it. So since I don't believe either of these should be stored outside, one has to go and it makes sense for me to sell the XJR.
At one point, if you have read my posts, I had my "muppet labs" intake and +4 lower pulley on it and it was running 18 psi of boost, very fast with no issues other than a primary tensioner started making noise, which prompted me to change the primary tensioners immediately which was not that difficult. I had already changed the upper tensioners the first week I had it. So someone is going to get a sweet XJR...
At this point, after spending high $ fixing/upgrading everything, I decided to start looking for other toys to play with and found this little gem of a Miata. For just the price of the lower +4 pulley on the Jag, I can replace the entire engine of the miata. I am 42 and have owned 21 different cars, so changing cars is a normal thing for me. I like the simplicity of the little roller skate and it is surprisingly fun to drive it. It is not "fast" and even with the new Eaton M45 6 psi super charger it will never be as fast as the XJR stock, but it is really fun anyway.
I am keeping this lovely Blue Zircon XJ8 in the photo for long drives and outings with the co-pilot Dog

Be warned, the XJRs generally cost a great deal more in maintenance than XJ8s.
This one is now completely done/updated/upgraded, but unless you have the need for speed, the XJ8 will be cheaper to maintain. Out of the two, I'm keeping the XJ8.
The blue is my favorite jag color

I can easily foresee myself having had 21 cars by the time I'm 40...
Looks like a beautiful ride though, you sure have taken care of it. Too bad I just bought my XJSC, otherwise I'd be giving this a hard look.
Wish you were selling it this time next year.... (though I am already out of garage space... )

I'm not in any rush to sell.
The right buyer will come along. This one is a powder puff garage queen. It has been driven in the rain less than 10 times in its whole life. The guy I bought it from sold it to the previous owner and then bought it back. It was covered under a soft cover in his temperature controlled garage in Northern California.
