Considering selling my Sapphire blue Jaguar XK8 convertible if the price is right, title in hand. As it stands it has the cylinder heads removed (a $750 job) but it needs at minimum new heads and gasket or a engine swap as the heads are warped. Valves are fine. I don't have the time to fix it right now, read more about that below. Car needs to be towed.
I've sometimes rented it out on Relayrides in the past making up to $600 a month, and people were really happy with it

The Good

- Potentially a very lucrative rental on Relayrides/Getaround.
- Body work and paint in good shape, car looks great!
- Drove great until incident described below, never broke down before.
- General Gmax tires in good shape with lots of life left.
- Nearly new brake pads and rotors.
- New spark plugs.
- New air filter.
- Transmission oil and filter recently replaced
- One previous owner, full service history.
- Upgraded speakers and Iphone/aux input

The Bad

- Convertible top latch has been converted to manual latching after hoses blew (works great but you need to use an allen key to latch the roof. A new set of hoses would cost ~$200).
- Driver seat leather need replacement (one gash through leather)
- Stereo Amplifier not included


The Ugly
-----------------------------------------
- Engine overheated and there was water in the cylinders after, cylinder do hold between 60 - 120 psi of pressure, and the car can start but will not idle. Needs new cylinder heads or worst case engine replacement.
- One Coolant leak after incident above.

The body is actually in better shape than it was then, as it just got some dents etc fixed.

Interior: everything is good except driver seat with a tear and front passenger seat. Has generally been well taken care off inside and out.

Sorry I don't have more pics, car is currently in the shop.

I'm 50 miles away in San Jose, so it's hard to drive all that way without seeing anything current of the car beforehand. Too many disappointments.

I read in one of your other posts that the car was in recently for body work/repair- did they repaint the whole car, or just what was damaged?

 

Well what exact pics do you want? I can rent a car and go take some for you.

The front bumper is new, front left fender and wheel lining, all taken care off. Car looked better than it was when i bought it. new left front headlight. total cost $7200..

 

Was the whole car repainted?

 

Hood, bumper, left door, left front fender, back left front fender. Not the whole car as far as I know. but paint job is very good.
