2000 xkr
I have a 2000 XKR Convertible in black that i am trying to decide what to do with.
It has a clear Florida title, no engine, and no transmission.
Do you think that there would be much interest in selling it as a LS1 conversion project? if i was selling it whole, i would be looking at getting about $6000 for it, do you think that sounds about right?
If that doesn't work out, i would be looking at parting it, again, what sort of interest would there be for parts out there, and do you think i could get close to the $6k that i need out of it?
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
Ben.

When you say selling it whole, do you mean whole as it sits now without the engine and tranny? If you are looking for about $6000 without an engine and transmission that would be nothing short of a miracle, even with the clear title. The NADA book value Base Price for a 2000 XKR is around $13K and that is the dealer retail figure which means it should be running and in dealership condition. Without having an engine and transmission it is far from that figure. I would guess that if you part it out you may get about $2000 over a period of about 6 months and that is if you aggresively advertise online that you are parting it out. Not so aggressively maybe a year to get $2000. If you sell it as is now I would guess you may find a buyer between $2000 and $3000. I wish you lots of luck selling it whichever way you decide to go however and I hope that I am wrong with regards to the money. Out of curiosity what happened to the engine and transmission? Did you pull them and use them on another Jag?

I agree with Stimie, I think you will be lucky to get $3000 for the car as it sits now. I just bought my 01 XKR convertible with some front end damage (bumper and headlight) for less than you want for the whole car (6K). Mind you I do have a dealer license but still I think 3K is more realistic if you can find a buyer. I think you can get closer to 3K parting it but as it was said it will take you a while.
3 years ago I parted a front end hit 95 XJ6 I bought for a couple parts I needed and only paid $300 for it. Over 2 years of posting parts on Ebay I have sold $2825.00 in parts off it and still have a good engine and trans.
Sadly if you have a balance on a loan due since you NEED 6K your going to have to rethink your objective.
Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
