2001 Jaguar XJ8 VDP Supercharged
Hi Forum Members,
I am selling my 2001 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas Supercharged with 98,500 miles. It is Emerald Green with beige leather interior. There were less than 800 of these beasts made for the U.S. market in 2001 with an MSRP of $85,000! This car has been my weekend driver since I purchased it in 2009 with 67,500 miles. The car has been well maintained, garage kept and runs great. The car is a real head turner and destined to become a classic. Please see the attached pics and email me with any questions so we can set up a test drive (I live in Northern Virginia).
Asking $7,500

Hi Members - Thanks for the comments. Still trying to unleash the beast, so I am lowering the price to $6,500. I would rather the car go to a true Jaguar enthusiast, than having to go the Craigslist route. Please let me know if you have any questions, need more details about the car, more pictures, etc.

I purchased the car in 2009 with 67,500 miles. In addition to regular oil changes, below is a list of repairs/services/replaced part numbers that I have completed to date:
IN LINE CONNECTOR FOR TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY - JLM21109
O-RINGS FOR GEARBOX INTERNAL HARNESS - JLM20212
THERMOSTAT - AJ86484
OUTLET O-RING - NCA2269CA
THERMOSTAT GASKET - NCA2246BA
THROTTLE BODY - C2A1445
GASKET - NNE3021AC
WATER PUMP
RESEVOIR HOSE
PERFORMANCE TIRES REPLACED AT 86,907 MILES
BELTS (2)
VALVE COVER GASKET
ABS PUMP & MODULE ASSEMBLY
FUEL PUMPS
FUEL FILTER
FUEL FILTER O-RING
AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (FRONT)
OXYGEN SENSOR (REAR)
The lower ball joint boot has a rip.
No CEL issues.
No timing belt issues.
There are some minor cosmetics as to be expected on a 16 year old Jaguar (sagging headliner, some paint chips, some scratches, some hairline cracks in wood paneling on drivers/passengers side, and a small bleach spot on carpet behind rear passenger seat).

It doesn't have a timing belt Timing chain - and this era are well known for having the chain tensioners go out and make a real mess of the engine - did you get records from the previous owner? They might be in there, it'd be a big plus.
Lovely Jag by the way.

Update
Thanks - Meant to say no timing chain issues. As far as the chain tensioners, I'm going to my mechanic this week to see if this work was done previous to my purchasing the car in 2009.

Since I purchased the car in 2009, I do not know if the timing chain tensioners have been replaced and my mechanic cannot determine it without charging me several hours of labor. My mechanic has told me that the only issue with the car is that the torn right front boot will need to be replaced at some point.
That being said, I have decided to drop the price to $5,500.
Thanks to all for your comments and replies.
Cheers!

I have been looking for a car just like this. Consider my name thrown in the hat. I live in southern PA, so just a couple hours from you depending on where you are.
Tried to send a PM but couldn't find the link. Feel free to PM me.
