This Jaguar 4.2 litre motor is from a mid 1960's 420. It is the same motor used in the E-type and Mark X. I received this motor with the purchase of a Mark X. It was running excellent when pulled from the 420 7 years ago when the previous owner parted the 420 for his beloved Mark X. It was fogged and stored properly indoors. It has approximately 5000 miles since it had been rebuilt. I have the service records for this motor from the time of rebuild to present. This auction includes the motor, dual SU carb setup, and alternator only. The automatic transmission may be included for an additional fee. The exhaust manifolds are not included. It is the final version of the famed XK engine used by Jaguar from 1946-1987. It will fit the Jaguar Mark 2, Mark 10, E-type, 3.8S, XK 140, XK 150, and XJ6 til 1987. Looking for $1250.

 

Since this motor has only two SUs, it is not from a 420G or Mark 10 (which had triple SUs). I'm guessing that it was pulled out of a 420 (the final classic S-Type variant). Still a fine motor!

 

Thanks for info. I could deliver to you in a few weeks as I am heading to Savannah in June. I do have a 3 carb setup also. I had originally thought of putting this motor in my MK 2, 2.4, but decided that it is fine as it is.
