I bought this car originally as a parts car so that I can convert my 75 Jaguar XJ12C back from propane to gas. However, I can't bring myself to do it as this is such a solid and complete car.
It's a 78 SII XJ12L that belonged to a guy who owned a factory here in Dallas. It was originally sold by Overseas motors and has been a Dallas car all of its life.
It appears that he stopped driving it in 1986 and it sat at the factory since then. After he passed away, his wife instructed one of the foremen to sell it on. I turned up and saw it there along with a number of Jeeps that he had.
Since owning it, I pulled the plugs, filled the cylinders with marvel and turned it over. The engine spins over well and has good compression from the amount of marvel on my ceiling. I also freed the fuel pump and replaced a number of fuel hoses under the hood along with the plug wires.
The interior is in pretty good shape with only sun damage on the back seat by the parcel shelf. The car looks like it's never been messed with.
The tanks will need to be boiled and the injectors will need to go out for cleaning. It has very little rust (just surface where the paint failed).
Selling for $1200 which is very firm as I still need to pay spend on my 75. However , if it does not sell in the next couple of weeks, I will part it out as I also really need the space.
