I am rebuilding my 4.liter supercharged motor, block tear down etc. wanted to get an {idea of cost] soup to nuts on the following. you pm etc and i will give my brother in law your contact information. thanks for your respones.
8 pistons
Gaskets for entire motor, new guides for chains.
Also want to replace every single solitary hose on top of motor, the hard plastic ones etc that sneak under the S/C . basically all the hoses on top of motor.

jag genuis can you give me a quote on how much an aluminum thermostat housing will cost? 00' Jaguar XJ8 VDP. Also do you have timing chain kit available for discount price? Thanks
EDIT:: To be more specific I would like both secondary timing chain tensioners, the 4 bolts nesscary to install and aluminum thermostat housing. What price can you get me for these items? Thanks. What is the minimum to avoid timing chain failure? Just the secondary tensioner correct?

I am not sure if you got my message or not, so just in case, here is another. I would like to get a new hood for my 2004 Jaguar x-type. But first I need to know how much you would charge me, because I would rather not spend 700 dollars on one like Jaguar was going to have me pay... Thank you!

Hi, I'm looking for an updated navigation disc for my 05 S-type. I'd be happy with any update from 2006-09 and would be even happier if I can get it for less than the $199 dealer price. Thanks

jag_genius:
I will soon be doing the tensioner upgrade (using the 3rd generation type) to my '98 VDP. Current mileage is 82,228 and it seems to run fine, without any rattles or warning sounds. The inspection results from the Jag Garage I took it to says evidence of 'cracked guides' and 'tensioners' but I cannot confirm this statement personally and I have not done business with them before. I will do it anyway (with my mechanic) to avoid future mishaps. I know it is probably best to install the 'complete kit' including chains and all the tensioners, but is it statistically necessary to replace everything to avoid engine failure, or will it be 'recommended or safe' to just replace the 'crucial parts' (economical reasons - not ignorance). If so, which are the crucial parts you recommend, and at what price can you offer them for as well as the price for the complete kit? This is my first entry, thanks in advance. (98_vdp)
