To keep the Classifieds up-to-date, when you have finished with your Advertisement, please mark the thread Closed using the link at the top of your thread (see Section g)


a) RULES
The classified sections are for members to Sell or Trade. There is NO CHARGE and the RULES are simple:

1. members with less than a 5 Post count AND registered on the forum for less than 10 Days are not allowed to post in the Classified sections.

2. No COMMERCIAL posts.

3. only a verified vendor is allowed to post in the Vendor For Sale section. Any member who posts here and is not a Vendor of this forum will have their post deleted and be banned for 7 Days in the first instance.

4. Repeated bumping of advertisements will not be tolerated.



b) CATEGORIES
The two separate For Sale and Wanted forums have now been merged into one For Sale/Trade or Buy forum.

These are colour coded to help quickly identify Sales, Trades or Buys:

FS : For Sale
WTT : Wanted to Trade
WTB : Wanted to Buy

Threads are also categorised by [REGION] in square brackets. There are 18 Regions available under FS, WTT and WTB.



c) VIEWING ADS
In the main browse, the latest thread posted or the thread with the latest reply will appear next to the forum section:

Opening the PRIVATE For Sale/Trade or Buy Classifieds forum section lists all threads with the most recent at the top:

Information is arranged in 6 columns:

1. column 1 (circled in red): shows the status of the thread:



2. column 2 (arrowed in blue): a thumbnail of the first pic in the thread
3. column 3 (boxed in orange): Category, Region and Thread Title
4. column 4: time and username for the latest post
5. column 5 (circled in purple): total number of replies
6. column 6 (circled in green): total number of views

A thread can be opened in 2 ways:
1. click on thumbnail in column 2
2. click on the thread title in column 3



d) CONTACTING THE ADVERTISER
We recommend members never include personal contact details such as eMail address or phone number in posts.

The three methods to contact an advertiser are:
1. post a reply to the thread
2. send a PM (forum Private Message)
3. send an eMail through the forum.

For the PM or eMail facility, click on the username at the top left of the post (arrowed in red):

In the dialogue box that opens, select "Send private message to ......." or "Send email to ......." (arrowed in blue).



e) POSTING A NEW AD
1. click on the New Thread button at the top left (arrowed in red):

2. click on the Prefix box to open the drop down list (arrowed in red:

3. select your Region from the FS (For Sale), WTT (Wanted to Trade) or WTB (Wanted to Buy) list:

4. enter the thread title in the Title box (arrowed in red) and the description of the item in the dialogue box (arrowed in blue):

5. to add images or other attachments, click on the Paper Clip button (arrowed in red):

Browse your computer, iPad or phone for the attachments to be added or enter the URL.

NOTE: the first image in the post automatically appears as the thumbnail in the browse.

f) REACHING A WIDER AUDIENCE .....
Within 24 hours of putting up a Test Ad in the forum PRIVATE For Sale/Trade or Buy Classifieds, a Google search for an XK8 4.2-S returns the following at the top of the results:

g) CLOSING YOUR AD
To keep the Classifieds up-to-date, when you have finished with your Advertisement, please mark the thread Closed using the link at the top of your thread (see link arrowed in red)

The word Closed will then appear next to your thread in the browse

If you later change your mind, the Ad can be reset to Active using the Active link at the top of your thread:
