F/S: 2003 X type 2.5 with bad motor
Blew my motor the other day and fixing it would cost as much as a good used car.
Willing to part with my car for less than my loan owed.
The car has new rear suspension parts, navigation, 6 disc CD, 2007 Nav CD, all leather interior in excellent condition.
The car is in great condition except throwing a rod.
Looking for $3500 OBO.

Damn, Wolf! A 2007, with a blown motor! My prayers are with you, man!!
We have a1999 XJ8 and we've alraedy had $900 worth of brake work, $3,500 in timing chain/tensioner/transmission repairs, $1,600 in body repair, $1,450 in electronics diagnostics and repairs, over $900 in up-grades and cosmetic changes. The botton-line here Bro. is this - you don't buy a Jag for fear of maintenance costs because, there's nothing not to like about a Jag (except!), mainteneance costs. We buy these Big Catsfor their drive, performance, handeling, smell, quiet ride, power, exceptional features and damn good looks! It's a hate-love relationship sometimes I wish I could shed...but I can't.
Long live the Big Cat!

ballard...little confusion there... updated 2007 Nav DVD, in a 2003 Xtype. lol
PS, you're really racking it up there!
Did you ever see my thread about posting annual maintenance totals? You're breakdown on your XJ8 may be beneficial to others looking for 'prices' before asking...at least in the long run.
Just note what years your repairs/maintenance was performed.

How much were you quoted for the engine replacement?(if you don't mind my asking) Was the quote for a new/rebuilt engine from the dealer, or a used engine with like miles? I may be interested but I'll need to research some more. Where are you located? I'm in Central Florida, so if I buy I'll obviously have to tow.

Well, nevermind. I just saw that they want about 2000 for used motors. More than I'm willing to spend so good luck with the sale otherwise.

just so you know... if you decide to part it out I wouldnt mind taking the nav system and reverse parking sensor system (if you have it) off of you... if the price is right...

Put it on Ebay? Someone will buy it just to get the Nav out of it to retrofit to their own. Screen alone costs $3500 at dealer.
What did you do to the motor?
