Default Feeler: 1975 Jaguar XJ6L

Hi all:

If you've been browsing the Classic XJ6 section, you've probably seen my troubles lately. Well, I'm trying to get a feeler for price of this car. If you're interested, please contact me. I don't mind lining up shipping anywhere in the USA.

This is a 1975 Jaguar XJ6L that I got as payment from detailing cars for a client the summer of my freshman year. When I got it, the engine was rough and the interior was not so great. The paint is the same. We did all of the proper tests and had it checked out. We worked to rebuild it as much as we could with the resources we had. Recently, the transmission went out, and I don't know where to go with it. So maybe I'll try this.

Here are the highlights:

  • All #'s are matching (Car, Engine, Body, Gear Box)
  • The upper half of the engine has been rebuilt (with stakedown kit on both sides)
  • The chrome is clean and not severely rusted out and through
  • Leaper installed
  • New headlights and housings refinished
  • Fresh coolant
  • Oil changed every 500 miles for the last 2,500 miles
  • Air pump removed
  • New belts
  • The entire engine bay has been thoroughly cleaned and painted
  • Brand new calibers, rotors, and brakes (Installed August 2013)
  • Undercarriage has been treated for rust
  • Interior has been converted to a Series 3 interior
  • Water temperature and battery gauge converted to accurate, modern gauge
  • New water temperature sensor
  • Comes with an exhaust sensor that can be hooked up to tune the car to the best stoichometric ratio.
  • Wood dash has been refinished
  • Electrical system has been repaired and everything actually works!
  • Tires have good amounts of tread
  • Has a few exhaust leaks, but it still works and sounds great
  • Glass is clean and in good condition... All seals have been repaired/replaced
  • Body panels are not rusted out
The not-so-good:
  • Transmission needs rebuilding
  • Two bullet holes in windshield
  • Light rust only at the front of the floorboard
  • Rust underneath the passenger seats
  • Needs front door panels (I have them, just need to be trimmed and installed, can supply)
If you want to see the total progress of the car, please look at the link below. It's actually the thread we made for the car as we rebuilt it. Feel free to ask questions! I really could use the money for another Jaguar for college and for college tuition itself.

Thanks for viewing!

I'd like to get around $8,000 for it, but please make me an offer. If I like it, it's yours.

What a lot of your self you've put into it over the years- you have my admiration for that. Great job so far.
Sorry you're throwing in the towel......
