Default FEELER: 1996 XJR6 70K miles, Absolute Must See

Jaguar enthusiasts know exactly what they have found in this listing. For sale as a feeler post is an original, rare, Supercharged STRAIGHT-SIX 1996 XJR with only 70,000 miles. The car is nearly perfect inside & out, ready to be driven by the next owner today.

My XJR is currently garaged located in beautiful Scottsdale, AZ where its been since I moved in 2010. However, my seasonal business back in Buffalo, NY has kept me here the majority of the year for two seasons and unfortunately the Jag sees very little use when I'm in town for only a few short months.

That being said I am the THIRD OWNER and have had this beautiful XJR since I purchased in April 2009. It has never seen snow or rain in my ownership.

When purchased from second owner out of Missouri the car had 58,000 miles on her and currently has 70,000. Clean Carfax included. It was in Buffalo one year strictly as a summer vehicle, then driven cross country to Scottsdale, AZ in October 2010. Not one hiccup during the 3-day trip.

This vehicle has a list of preventative maintenance and service done to it during my ownership, along with a professional full detail every 3 months, which is what I do for a living.

I truly don't want or need to sell this XJR. I'll be hard pressed to think you'll find another example like mine. Its been in the hands of a Jaguar enthusiast for 5 years.

Listed below are years of preventative maintenance and upgrades (newest to oldest):

- April 2014 @ 70,464 miles: A/C recharged, New Front Shock Bushings, New ABS ground strap: $569.84 (British Auto Repair - Scottsdale, AZ)

- March 2013 @ apx 67,000 miles: New Bosch Battery: $119.12

- January 2012 @ apx 65,000 miles: Belts replaced (Supercharger, Alternator, A/C): $62.81 (personally installed)

- May 2011 @ 66,174 miles: EGR System recall - replace PROMS & Throttle Spring (Jaguar North Scottsdale)

- April 2011 @ 66,000 miles: Transmission Drain & Refill w/filter: $35.84 (personally done)

- January 2011 @ 65,300 miles: Tune-Up (New Spark Plugs & Valve Cover Gasket): $86.78 (personally installed)

- July 2009: New Pirelli Zero tires & OEM 18" Penta XJR wheels (off the 98/99 XJR model years): $2,400.00

- August 2009: New Subwoofer Speaker for rear deck Harmon Kardon system: $164.76 (only available through Jaguar dealership - West Herr Jaguar)

- August 2009 @ 59,600 miles: New rear tranny mount/seat spring - preventative maintenance only: $47.70

- April 2009 @ 58,xxx miles: New high quality 20% window tint file: $162.04 (Eclipse Glass Tinting)

- Misc... K&N Air Filter, Tires rotated @ 64,500 & 67,700 miles.

This particular XJR is loaded with every option that I know to have been available for the year:

- Dual Power Seats/Windows/Locks/Mirrors/Steering Wheel, Driver Memory Seat, Front AND Rear Heated Seats, Sunroof, 6-Disc CD Changer/Cassette, Harmon Kardon Sound System, Keyless Entry (2 OEM fobs), Cruise Control, Trip Computer, ABS, Power Steering, A/C & Heat, Front & Rear Fog Lamps, Dual Exhaust, and 18" XJR Wheels.

Everything works exactly as it should. Harmon Kardon stereo system sounds excellent with no blown speakers.

Interior is in pristine condition, no fading or cracking leather, trim, etc anywhere. Every 3 months when I did a full detail, leather was reconditioned to prevent from dry cracking in the Phoenix summers. One item to note is the ONLY thing I never addressed was the sagging headliner only in the rear area. Never bothered me because with the sunroof it never effected the front area.

Exterior of this XJR is in beautiful condition, but please expect normal wear & tear for a vehicle that's pushing 20 years old. Notable flaws are a scuff on front corner of bumper (passenger side) and a dime sized dent (no paint missing) on passenger rear quarter panel, which has been there since I purchased the Jag 5 years ago. Black paint is still in wonderful condition, also receiving a full buff/polish/wax with the finest detail products every 3 months. The exterior is due for a detail right now and will be done before buyer picks up vehicle.

The upgraded 18" OEM XJR wheels off the '98/99 model years make this 1996 XJR6 look 10 years newer. Those wheels and brand new Pirelli Zero tires were purchased in July 2009 for $2,400.00

Wheels are in excellent condition and tires still have a good 50% or more tread left. The OEM XJR wheels that were on the car were sold many years ago. The original OEM full size spare is still in the trunk, also in excellent condition. In my opinion, the factory wheels for the 95-97 XJRs killed the whole look of the car.

Mechanically, as you know Jaguar enthusiasts the 1995-1997 X300 Jags were the best ever built. Bullet proof 4.0L straight-six motor will run forever with minimal and less costly maintenance. This Supercharged straight-six might be a night and day difference between modern V8 XJRs but those will never match the reliability of the real Jaguar engines. This 322 HP motor still does the job quite well when you want this 4,000+ pound sedan to move!

This Jaguar runs very strong, drives smooth as butter, shifts beautifully, and has never had a check engine light on in my 5 years of ownership. There is nothing to hide here. You have a chance to own a rare and original straight-six Supercharged XJR with many preventative maintenance items addressed that are common on the 95-97 Jags.

With that being said I do not necessarily want or need to sell this XJR. The chances of me finding another one like this that's been cared for in the same way are slim to none. Not sure what my next Jaguar will be, but I want this 1996 XJR to go to a Jaguar enthusiast like myself.

I am currently working 7 days a week and have no time for games, BS, or tire kickers. This is just a FEELER post for the Jaguar forums community right now. The car will be listed on eBay after Christmas when I know I'll be back in Scottsdale, AZ during January to show/sell the car in person.

Asking $12,500 or Best Respectable Offer.

Serious inquiries please PM me or call/text 716.597.7308 (text/calls preferred)

Thank you!

Now that's what I call a sales listing.

Thorough description and pics of a stunning car that's been loved and looked after.

I would love to see this go to a true Jaguar enthusiast, perhaps even a forum member and wish you the best of luck with the sale.

Hot hot hot! Great listing, you should use it on ebay if necessary...

But why not take her to Barret-Jackson or one of the other auctions this coming January? Might not go to a true "enthusiast", but it is sure to be the only one of it's kind at any one of the auctions. That will get the bids up and could score you a good cash sale. Ebay as an alternative simply doesn't compare.

Last January at B-J, there were only SEVEN Jaguars out of 1400 cars, and virtually ALL 1400 sold! A local 1995 XJS went for something like $20k, and your car is at least equally as rare as XJS. Worth considering!

$20k? Heck, I'll drive my 51k mile 97 XJR over to AZ for that

I love it and all but

Good luck with the car, it's very nice and I'm sure you'll find someone to take over its stewardship.

Thank you for the replies appreciate the comments. I will be listing this on eBay within the next 2 weeks.

On another note just out of curiosity I called Barrett Jackson and that's out of the question!

Unless they deem your car is valued at $500,000 or more (yes 1/2 million dollars) during consignment process than you cannot put a reserve price on.

Consignment fee ranges from 600-1800 and they take 8% of the sale price. Going to pass on that option!
