Aloha,
I decided to bring this back to see if I can finally sell this.
I no longer have my Jag and most def have no use for this any more.
I have a input converter that came out of my 02 S-type. In perfect condition.
what this does is by passes the CD changer in the back and lets you use the CD portion of the deck as a MP player or what ever you want to use to play music in place of the stock CD changer.
XM Satellite Radio at MyRadioStore - AUX Audio Input Adapters - Factory OEM Stereos - Jaguar - PIE '00 - '02 Jaguar Aux-Input JAGW-AUX

Its very simple, just Unplug the CD changer wire then plug into it's place the wire harness (included) into the back of the deck. (Your CD changer in the trunk will be disabled)
You will need to supply your own RCA cord (not included). (this will not work with the R s type and you will lose the CD option unless you unplug this device)
Aloha,
Now FOR $30.00

Unfortunately yes you will.
The wire harness from the CD is unplugged and the adapter wire harness plugs in its place.

I dont mind losing the cd-changer with the addition of my ipod. but would i lose funcionality of the cd-player thats integrated into the head unit as well? i was confused on that and i'd like to still have the option to throw a cd in every now and then.
an RCA cord is one that converts the white/red plugs to a headphone jack isnt it?
Im guessing the RCA gets plugged into the input converter and then do you plug the converter into the back of the head unit?
Once its installed, Im guessing you just hit the cdc button on the headunit to switch over and then control the music from the ipod?
Finally, how bad is the removal of the headunit, where did mount the input converter, where did the feed to plug the ipod into come out, etc...? ive done plenty of aftermarket stereo's in my day but the interior on this car doesnt quite look "simple" to disect and I'd like to have as clean of an install as possible without breaking anything lol
sorry for all of the questions i just wanted to clear up my confusion before i purchased it from you. Thanks very much!!

Yes you will be able to still use the CD deck, the RCA plugs go into the converter and at the other end will go into your Ipod or what ever you will be useing yea.
You switch to deck to the CD changer/player to activate the IPod.
To attach the wire harness (pictured with the unit) the face plate on the stereo deck snap's off, theres to small pieces on each side of the stereo deck face that snap's out, use a butter kife or something that wont scratch up the wood finish, it will reveal a small screw on each side, unscrew these and the whole front face plate of the stereo deck will slide out.
Hope this help's.
contact me if you have any more questions k brah?
K take care, Aloha.

The converter you have will only work on S-Type 2000MY to 2002MY.
The newer cars have a D2B network for ICE (in car entertainment) that your car does not use.
The older sedans use a different head unit.
I sold my 2001 S-Type 4.0 but it sounds like a good way to get around a damaged/faulty CD player or have more options for the Sound System.
