I'm in LA and contemplating parting out my 99 XJR
Everything mechanically is great except the transmission
Spent $$$ on the engine to include new Tentsioners and all new rubber (hoses and seals)
It would be a shame to just sell the car for nothing

 

I bought this 01 xj8l just for the engine. Wound up using both the engine and trans. After taking parts requests for a few months and selling next to nothing in parts, I decided to strip the car of items I thought would be useful and spruced up my 99 vdp interior at the same time. Now here I am with my office cluttered with boxes of jaguar parts that no one needs lol.

When I finally get to the end of my rope I'm going to throw this stuff in the scrap bin. On the upside, after scrapping the car and selling very few items, my parts car paid for about a third of it's purchase price. Used engines are very expensive for these cars.

 

the Engine on my 99 XJR is the best thing about the car.
New Everything!!
Will probably get more for it alone than selling the whole car.
I just can't see putting another transmission in again.

I have a 2005 xj8L and I need the "lid" for the engine air filter box. Mine is a bit busted as it looks like previous owner tried to force it.
You don't have a "pass through" from the trunk into the cabin for skies etc, do you?
Also I need the most recent Nav DVD if you have one of those....

Shifter assy with leather knob MJA4913AB round wheel with brush on it is broken and can be seen laying next to it in the picture. Lots of good parts on this assembly. $50

Front shock tower plate; has the orange bushing that bolts to top of the shock. Dont know which side it is. Bushings look worn. $20

RH side A/C vent assembly. GND6725AB $15

CD changer w/ mounting bracket. Missing cartridge, missing piece of cover that had the Leaper on it. LNF4160AA $50

Console top black leather; embroidered with letters A M; Cupholders functional $75

RH side mirror; has smaller "wide angle" mirror attached to larger one; has plastic film stuck to the back of it and would probably come off with some GOOF OFF; Wire connector has 12 positions and all 12 are populated (does this indicate power-fold?) I couldnt read the whole part number on the tag. Appears to be black colored, someone corrected me and suggested it was "Anthracite" which may well be true (extremely dark grey with metallic) $30

I'm in Fort Worth and would like a few items for my '01 XJ8L. Needing the passenger front fender liner, driver's turn signal assembly, bits of the jack/toolkit, driver's front door panel, 3rd brake light, 1 lug nut (!), rear seatbelt trim. If your car has the wood steering wheel option, I would definitely be interested. Possibly more stuff needed, those bits are what are missing from the previous owner.

 

Man, looks like we are striking out. All I have left that you listed is a complete round spare tire tool kit that appears unused, plus "tons" of other stuff. I'm located down by Waco. Shoot me a pm if you're interested in any of the parts I have! If someone was interested in taking it all off my hands, I would take an amazingly low price for everything. Thanks

 

Is the Subwoofer still available?

 

Iirc, there wasn't one in this xj8L. Around the time I spruced up my interior on the 99 vdp, I also refoamed my subwoofer. I found a thread here on how to do it. Worked great and only took a couple hours. Although I think I did let the glue dry overnight. Thanks for your interest!

Rear sway bar, hardware including mounting bracket to diff ?

 

How about the door 2 stop arm hinge (left side) mine was making noise at both stops. I took the door panel off and it snapped inside the inner door. Available?

 

Don't have the door check arms, also don't have sway bar stuff. Thanks for your inquiries though!

I was having troubles with my door check arms and it turned out the sheet metal inside the door had cracked away. Some big washers saved the day!

 

Do you still have the plastic defrost grills that run along the top of the dash?
