Looking for low mileage 1996 or 1997 X300 XJR
Hi,
I am looking to buy a 1996 or 1997 XJR:
I am located in North Carolina, but the location of the car is not terribly relevant if it is the right car. I can travel to pick up the car and drive it back if necessary and possibly even ship it. However it is a huge plus if the car is located within a few hours drive from central NC.
Exterior & interior color combination is not an issue necessarily. I will just have to see the car in question to see if it appeals to me.
I may consider a 1995 XJR if it is an exceptional car and exceptional deal. Although there is nothing wrong with the 1995, my preference is a 1996 or 1997 model due to various evolutionary improvements such as OBDII compatibility, etc. that are inevitable after the first model year. 1996 models are particularly intriguing to me due to a few options they had over 1995 and 1997 in the USA.
If you have a car or come across a car someone else is selling that fits these criteria, please let me know. I do a lot of regular searching, but there are bound to be some out there at times that I'll miss and may not even be on the Internet. So having more eyes on the lookout than just mine is very helpful and much appreciated!
What I am not looking for is another project. I am very handy with car maintenance and don't mind wrenching; but I've had a couple project cars over the last few years and want one I can essentially jump in and drive with confidence. Other than maintenance, the only "projects" I want to have in relation to this car may by minor performance modifications that one can do over a weekend. Other than that, it will remain stock.
I realize some of the requirements above may seem idealized for a 20 year old and somewhat scarce (esp low mileage) car, and I am reasonable. The car will be a total package, and some concessions may be acceptable. But as I am in no hurry, I'd like to shoot for the stars and see what I hit
Thanks in advance for any help in finding the car I am looking for!

I am looking to buy a 1996 or 1997 XJR:
- Excellent condition, both cosmetic and mechanical.
- Interior condition, especially wear areas such as the drivers seat and functionality of accessories is an consideration that matters a great deal to me.
- Exterior condition must be excelllent. If repainted, must be a quality OEM/factory equivalent and documented.
- Mechanical condition must be excellent, either well maintained original or repaired to spec.
- No accidents of any significance preferred. Minor professionally repaired (documented) "fender benders" are possibly OK, but no major accidents.
- Well maintained either by a Jaguar mechanic, other skilled mechanic or owner. Documentation is a plus. Lack of said documented maintenance or other evidence of regular maintenance is a major negative.
- Essentially stock. If a change can't be easily returned to stock without modification or significant work, that's a negative to me. Some exceptions that would be a "plus" could be a modification such as the installation of an "Andy bracket" or other well received (in the Jaguar community) modification that is a known benefit to reliability, performance, etc.
- Low mileage, under 75k miles. Around 50k miles or less is ideal.
- Reasonable price (relative to condition and mileage), but will consider all available. My ceiling is $7-8k for a very special car, but would like to spend significantly less.

Thanks for taking the time to find and post those ads, I appreciate it very much
I'm specifically looking for an X300 XJR (95-97) though, versus the later X308
I'll definitely keep you in mind if I come across what you are looking for as well.
Thanks again!
