Cars with the mouse belts came with a set of temporary, emergency clips that would allow a person to drive the car without the seat belts working. The clips fit over an anchor point in the seat belt track, and the clips themselves (a "left" clip and a "right" clip) were delivered with the car; they were kept in the glove compartment.
