Default S Type R Intake Pipe for sale- add approx 12 rwhp

Hi guys. I have a few intake pipes for the S type R being fabricated up as we speak. My prototype pipe made power and everyone else with something similar has reported 10+ rwhp on the dyno (I've never heard less than 12). Please check out my other thread for all the details and video of my car on the dyno, but here's the highlights:

-stainless steel construction
-3 ply reinforced silicone connectors (very durable/heavy duty)
-1/2" hose breather hose included, no running to the parts store for install
-t bolt clamps, heavier duty than required
-works with the stock airbox or maf w cone filter (same dimensions as the stock piece it replaces)
-sounds great; hear the supercharger more when in boost
-adds 10+ hp
-low cost to hp quotient
-less than 10 minute install (I did in less than 5 on the dyno)

For those of you that don't know me, you can look me up on here (500+ posts), corvetteforum (2200+ posts) and on the corral (1400 posts). I've done custom brackets for the vette and a few other one off projects. Not that I do it myself, but I have a great fab shop that I use. Anyhow, with this simple of a project, you can believe that you'll get something thought through and tested out. If you're local in So Cal, come on down and I'll install it for you.

Cost for the piece is $215 shipped in the US as received to me, or $240 polished, shipped in the US. I'll ship it where ever you are but you'll have to pm me your address to figure it out. If you're out of the US, that's fine and I'll give you $15 of the standard price toward shipping since I'm offering free shipping in the US.

For payment, I do take paypal or cash if you're local. My paypal is russriggs@yahoo.com . If you do that, then let me know if you want standard or polished and make a note of what you're screen name is on here. If you don't have one, then make sure you give me your current email address. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 714-404-8410. I'm located in California and feel free to call me from 9am to midnight.

Thanks guys! Here's my other thread:

3", 3.25 or 4"... I doubt it would make much of a measure able difference since the bottleneck is the mass air meter at 3" less the area of the sampling tube.

I have a question regarding these. I have a 04 XJR.

Are these designed to be used with an open element filter as pictured in your setup, or just with the factory airbox? I am not sure that my airbox is in the same location as yours, however I also have those giant silencer ports in my factory setup.

Please advise, I think I could make this work with an open element filter.

Thanks,

George

You can use the part with the stock airbox or with the conical filter. However this one isn't designed for the xj. I've taken a look it ask Jay in the design is quite a bit different. I believe that one uses a combination of 2 - 45' turns. At some point I may make a version for this one because I heard these parts break quite frequently. Replacement cost is $178 if I recall correctly for the stock plastic piece. But unfortunately I'm a long ways off from taking on another project at the current time

Hey guys the polished ones are all spoken for. I have a few left that are unpolished for $220 that fit the stock airbox or $210 for the 3" version for modified setups.

Here are some dyno sheets. The stock one was with only a k&n drop in filter. The modified one had the tube and the same k&n filter. Both were otherwise stock.

And with that being said, I have 3 non-polished left and thats it. PM me for more details.

Also, 1 of the $50 dynos has been spoken for. I'm still will pay the next person to dyno one $50. Thanks!

nope, these are specific to the S type R. Here's some discussion from the thread in the S type section:

Glad to here that you're really happy with the elbow. I know heat soak was a concern but this thing adds so much power throughout the band that it far outweighs any possible heatsoak. If it'll work for you in 105' weather, it should work for just about anyone.

Finally, anyone thinking about buying a tube or yet to install theirs should definitely jump on your fitting as they are currently unavailable.

I will have more info later in the week, but just wanted to revive this thread and note that I am very happy after a few minutes of driving. The sound of my exhaust even changed too, hah. also appears my stock intake was semi crushed underneath where it goes into the black aluminum tube (check yours too). And best of all, the SC screams like an 03 cobra, but is generally quiet under 3KRPM.

Also, since we are supposed to cut the stock tube from the valve cover to the intake, I wanted to let others know I am willing to sell my other half since the complete stock piece is impossible to find. This way you can keep your stock piece and go back to stock whenever by using my other piece. pm me for details.
