I have a 2005 xkr - got it a week ago. I'm in Long Island, so a 5 hr ride to Boston is not out of question. What is the cost of the project - parts and labor?

A couple of years ago I have installed a 2.1L version on a RRS, worked great, and the new STR kit (which will have a 2.6LH compressor) will be a close fit, should work even better ;-)

The plan is to install one in the next weeks, so I hope to give some feedback by the end of the month on how it turned out.

+1

Just drove mine for a couple of days last week, first time in a few months. It reminded me why I picked the car to begin with and why I still love it so much. If I am going to mess with upgrading it, I want it to go all the way

Update on the 4.2 XJR project:

Have had some delays, 1st a nasty flue knocked me off for some time, and after that limited time in the weekends to work on the car.

However, I am very pleased, as today I have been able to go for the final fit. The newly designed intake (after some small adjustments only) with the 2.6LH supercharger fits very snug and nice. Everything fits to the intake as well including the nasty EGR, but it’s a tough job as there is just so little room.

By next weekend I hope to start her up.

Not much to see though, but for the curious ones, please see attached picture:

Its not finished yet, the stock 75mm maf & airbox are still on, and they are actually choking the twin-screw now. The new 89mm Maf is planned for July or so, but in the mean time the car can already be drived/tested.

Ah that answers a few of my questions greatly. I was thinking you were going to pull the TB up but I wasn't sure if there was enough room (there is), how well would the stock aftercoolers work with it (looks like the line up just fine), and what were you going to do about the intake pipe (looks like silicon hose).

Will a black hose be offered? Or could the intake tube be continued closer to the TB? I know it won't matter as there is no boost in that pipe, I was just thinking more about stock looking.

Thanks!!!

The piping is standard 3.5" size which you can buy anywhere nothing special, so no point for me to include that in the kit, only adds unnecessary costs for double shipping etc. Of course I'll add all the instructions, and who knows, maybe someone will make nice carbon fiber version of the full intake as an option ;-).

When will you start selling these kits for the XJR?

How much horsepower gain with stock throttlebody and maf, with meth injection.

How much horsepower gain with larger throttlebody and maf, and meth injection?
